Identify arch length for a proper fit

Proper shoe fit is a true art.  One of the most important but usually over looked fit elements is "Arch Length". Arch length is the measurement from heel to first metatarsal. This measurement is important because most shoes are actually built by this measurement, if this measurement doesn't fit then the foot will not be supported properly. The way you can confirm if the ball of the foot is in the proper spot, locate the widest part of the shoe then make sure the first metatarsal is in that spot.  This will ensure best arch support, proper flex, and ultimate comfort.
